Yemeni forces announced late Sunday they have staged drone attack that targeted King Khaled Saudi air base, the latest retalitionary attack against Saudi targets by revolutionaries in the Arab impoverished country.
Yemeni armed forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said several Qasif K-2 drones carried out offensive operation targeting King Khaled air base in Khamis Mushait.
The offensive hit radars and other military posts, Saree said, as quoted by Yemen’s Beirut-based Al-Massirah.
The spokesman said the attack was in retaliation for continuous aggression by Saudi-led coalition which has been in the latest days escalating attacks against Yemeni civilians.
In the last 48 hours, dozens of Yemenis were martyred or injured in 36 airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led coalition, Saree said.
Yemen has been since March 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led Coalition, in a bid to restore control to fugitive Hadi who is Riyadh’s ally.
Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis have been killed or injured in the strikes launched by the coalition, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
The coalition, which includes in addition to Saudi Arabia and UAE: Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Kuwait, has been also imposing a harsh blockade against Yemenis.
