Yemeni air defenses downed on Thursday evening a US-made drone in the Western Coast, Al-Massirah TV channel reported.
The Yemeni TV quoted military source as saying that the MQ-9 Reaper drone was downed after being spotted carrying out hostile actions in the Western Coast.
The MQ-9 Reaper is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) primarily for the United States Air Force (USAF). It was operated by US forces to hit targets in Afghanistan.
Also on Thursday, Yemeni allied forces of the Yemeni Army and the Popular Committees managed during the day to down spy drone in Najran, Al-Massirah added.
Earlier in mid-May, Yemeni forces downed MQ1 drone south of Sanaa.
