Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah received Lebanese Presidential hopeful MP Michel Aoun on Sunday night and discussed latest developments in Lebanon and the region, especially the presidential elections.
Hezbollah released a statement on Monday saying that both leaders tackled the necessity of joining efforts to lead the presidential elections to a happy ending with the best possible positivity.
Aoun, for his part, expressed gratitude to Sayyed Nasrallah for helping facilitate a near end to Lebanon’s power void. “We are here tonight to thank Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah for helping us resolve the obstinate presidential election problem, and for providing all facilities to solve this issue and , thanks God, we’ve reached a happy ending,” the Free Patriotic Movement founder said, praising Hezbollah leader for always providing support and tolerating in national causes.
The meeting was held in the presence of FPM leader Gebran Bassil and Hezbollah officials Hajj Hussein Khalil and Wafiq Safa.
In a televised speech delivered Sunday afternoon, Sayyed Nasrallah noted that “despite President Hariri’s escalating speech against us, we will stay positive and everything could be solved through dialogue… all we aim for is achieving presidential elections and keeping this country secure and coherent.”
