Iran lashed out at the Zionist entity on Tuesday, saying ‘Israel’ is the origin of all humanitarian crises in the Middle East.
In a statement released on the occasion of the Nakba Day, the Iranian foreign ministry said that 71 years ago an illegitimate entity called the Zionist regime of ‘Israel’ was born which is today the origin of all humanitarian crises in the region, posing a real threat to international peace and security.
“Palestine suffered the most painful event in the history of Islam and the world on May 14, 1948 and the Palestinians have not enjoyed peace and calm since then,” IRNA news agency cited the statement as saying.
“Seventy-one years ago on this day, a group with a deviant and racist ideas killed native people of Palestine, including men and women, the young and the elderly, and the innocent children,” the statement read.
“Expressing its full solidarity with the Palestinian people’s cause, the Islamic Republic of Iran once again underlines the important responsibility of the international community, in particular the United Nations, to end the organized occupation of Palestine and the Holy Quds (Jerusalem) and to help the people of this land determine their own destiny and form an independent state,” the statement added.
Nakba Day is generally commemorated by the Palestinians on May 15. It is an annual day of commemoration of the displacement that preceded and followed the Israeli occupation in 1948.
