President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, told a delegation of the Syndicate of Editors that “controlling the media is not a restriction to freedoms, but a commitment to the ceiling of truth.”
On the repatriation of displaced persons, Aoun said, “We refuse to wait for a political solution for the return of the displaced. Our experience with the Palestinian cause, in this context, is in no way encouraging.”
Aoun uttered surprise over “the positions of some of the major countries that do not make any effort for the return of the displaced, and seek to prevent us from working to achieve this return.”
“There are no differences within the government and it will be a successful government,” he affirmed.
