Lebanon’s Speaker Nabih Berri said, as quoted by MP Ali Bazzi, on Wednesday that the most recent contacts had mainly focused on the Consultative Gathering’s representation in the new government, as well as on some additional touch ups to the awaited cabinet formula.

“The Consultative Gathering’s representation in the new cabinet has been basically agreed upon, yet there remain some final touches to be made,” Bazzi said, making clear that the remaining problem was where to place the Consultative Gathering Minister and who’s share he/she will assume.

“The Prime Minister-designate had done his work in liaison with the main parties, and Speaker Berri had carried out his duties over the past two days with the aim of facilitating the cabinet formation, especially due to the fact that the situation of the country and the people could no longer tolerate squandered opportunities,” Bazzi concluded.
