Russian President Vladimir Putin wished a happy New Year to Turkish President Recep Tayyipp Erdogan and expressed confidence that Russia and Turkey will continue to build ties to strengthen security in Eurasia, the Kremlin press service said.
“The construction of the first unit of Akkuyu nuclear power plant was launched, the construction of the maritime section of the TurkStream pipeline was finished, promising areas for bilateral cooperation have been outlined,” the statement said.
Putin stressed Moscow and Ankara are jointly making a decisive contribution to the fight against terrorism in Syria, as well as to advancing the process of political settlement in this country.
“Putin expressed confidence that the two countries will continue the work on building up mutually beneficial partnership in all areas for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries and in the interests of strengthening peace, security and stability on the Eurasian continent,” the statement said.
