Iraqi army managed on Sunday to kill three terrorists south of the capital Baghdad who were planning to stage terrorist attack targeting pilgrims in Arbaeen.

Baghdad Operations Command said in a statement that they had information that three terrorists are planning to reside in Rodwaniyah neighborhood south of Baghdad and launch attack against Arbaeen pilgrims.

The statement added that Iraqi army managed to ambush the three terrorists and seize their arms which included explosive belts.

Arbaeen is the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam.
