The Syrian President Bashar Assad performed on Friday the prayers of Eid al-Fitr (the Festival which marks the end of the month–long fast of Ramadan) at Khadija Mosque in Tartous.

Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed, Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Bader Eddin Hassoun, Tartous Governor, Secretary of Tartous Branch of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, a number of the People’s Assembly members, a number of Islamic scholars and a crowd of citizens also performed the prayers along with President al-Assad.

The Eid sermon was delivered by Minister al-Sayyed who led the prayers.
