Leader of Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has addressed a graduation and oath-taking ceremony of students of Shahid Sattari University of Aeronautical Engineering on Wednesday morning, stressing that the military should remain prepared for the times of need so that it could serve the nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei told the ceremony in a brief speech that technical and scientific capabilities, piety and belief, and organizational discipline should contribute to preparedness of the military, along with inculcating the new generation of students and the public alike the invaluable experiences and lessons learned during the Sacred Defense.
“Today, the nation faces a front of diverse enemies, only for the fact that we have insisted on our independence, advocated Islam’s rule, and our Revolutionary ideals. Under such a situation, the military should remain prepared for the times of need so that it could serve the nation,” he told the ceremony in Shahid Sattari University, after attending a military parade of the graduated students.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Army’s record in the Sacred Defense provides it with a golden chapter of valor and as an acid test of capabilities. The great event was a ground for the Army to prove what it had in terms of spiritual and combat capabilities.
“In that apocalyptic event, the Army fight the enemy, relying on its forces and on God and the late Imam Khomeini; you are the heirs to a heavy duty the last generation of the warriors had left; their memory will remain brilliant and forever in the collective conscience of the nation; the martyrs who bestowed upon this land greatness, security, and sovereignty,” the Leader lavished praise upon the fallen soldiers of the Imposed War.
