The Lebanese President General Michel Aoun welcomed on Monday the Iranians to reach peaceful solutions for the crises in the region, highlighting the importance of the ongoing talks on Syria in the Kazakh capital of Astana.
President Aoun made his statements after receiving the Iranian Deputy Minister for Arab-African Affairs, Hussein Jaberi, and the accompanying delegation on Monday at Baabda palace, hailing the mutual ties between the two countries.
The Lebanese president also confirmed the Iranian invitation to visit Tehran, stressing that the trip to the Islamic Republic will take place after setting its date.
For his part, Ansari, hailed the distinguished role of the Lebanese nation, government, army and resistance movement in countering Israel’s aggression and terrorism.
Jaberi Ansari further stressed that Lebanon has a special place for the two top priorities of Iran’s foreign ministry during President Rouhani’s second term in office, namely expansion of regional cooperation and boosting economic diplomacy.
