No definite arrangements have been set for a meeting between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin said Monday.
“They will be present at the same event, in the same city, at the same time. Anyway, there will be a possibility for such a meeting,” Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said during a conference call with reporters, according to Reuters.
He was referring to the G20 summit next month in Germany.
“Let’s wait for this G20 summit,” Peskov said, the news service reported.
“But I repeat again: to our regret, there have so far been no definite arrangements regarding this.”
Reports have surfaced that the two leaders are likely to meet during the G20 summit next month.
Reuters earlier this month said the media would likely be excluded from the potential meeting between the two leaders.
The meeting would come amid multiple investigations into the Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential race.
Trump has decried the investigation into the Russian meddling in the presidential election as a “witch hunt.”
Putin has also denied any involvement in the U.S. election.
