Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced after talks Sunday with President Michel Aoun that the new electoral law “must be finalized before the Cabinet session” that will be held Wednesday.
“The atmosphere of talks with President Michel Aoun was positive,” said Prime Minister Hariri following his meeting with the President at Baabda Palace, adding that “the draft voting law must be finalized prior to the cabinet’s session next Wednesday.”
Aoun and Hariri held a round of talks on the general situation in the country, current political developments and the outcome of contacts to agree on a new law for the parliamentary elections.
“We must expedite the completion of a new election law the soonest possible,” Hariri emphasized following their half-hour meeting.
