Iran announced on Saturday a terrorist cell affiliated to the agents of the June 7 attacks in the capital have been identified and arrested in the suburb of Tehran.
In his announcement, Commander of the Law Enforcement Force Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari appreciated good cooperation between people, the police and security forces to identify the terrorists, IRNA news agency reported.
Two terrorist attacks on the late Imam Khomeini’s Mausoleum and Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) left 17 dead and 52 wounded.
Revealing the names, photos and identities of the assailants, the Intelligence Ministry said in a statement that the terrorists were affiliated to Wahhabi and Takfiri groups who joined ISIL terrorist group overseas and were red handed in the crimes of the terrorist group in Mosul of Iraq and Raqa in Syria.
Those terrorists infiltrated into Iran in 2016 under command of Abu Ayeshe who is among isil top commanders and were to carry out terrorist operations in Iran’s religious cities, but after annihilation of the network and killing of their ringleaders such as Abu Ayeshe they fled the country.
Meanwhile, Prosecutor General of Alborz province, north of Tehran, Ahmad Fazelian said that eight of the logistical agents of the Wednesday Tehran attacks have been detained in the province.
Fazelian also noted that seven of these terrorist logistic agents were arrested in Fardis while the eighth in Kianmehr, which are both cities of Alborz province.
The official added that the detained terrorists are under interrogation.
Terrorist group of ISIL has claimed responsibility for the recent fatal attacks in Tehran.
