The Hebrew website “Wala” has revealed shocking figures regarding the impact of the war on Gaza on Israeli occupation soldiers. According to the website, approximately 4,000 soldiers have been disabled since October 7.
However, there are concerns that this number may rise significantly to reach 30,000.
According to “Wala” website Al-Aqsa Flood operation has thrust ‘Israel’ into a war unlike any it has seen before, primarily due to the sheer number of soldiers wounded. These injuries are reported to be severe and of great concern.
It has been noted that the Israeli occupation army is not transparent about sharing information on the wounded with the public. This is believed to be done to prevent any decline in morale among the soldiers.
“The Wala website has revealed that 4,000 soldiers have been recognized as having disabilities under ‘Classification 3’,” states the website. Classification 3 implies that they are entitled to receive all the treatments and rights granted to disabled individuals within the enemy’s army, without any official recognition.
The injured soldiers are also said to be receiving salaries and treatment, without needing to provide proof of disability. Rehabilitation efforts are underway to aid their recovery and help them return to normal life.
Idan Kaliman, the head of the Organization for the Disabled in the Israeli Occupation Army, expressed his concern about the unprecedented number of wounded soldiers. “We need to triple our strength immediately to support our soldiers and we are prepared to face this challenge,” says Kaliman. He emphasizes that in his 30 years of service, he has never encountered such a high number of severe injuries, with many soldiers experiencing amputations, blindness, and paralysis.
However, conflicting numbers have been reported. Yedioth Ahronoth, an Israeli newspaper, stated last month that 5,000 soldiers had been wounded since the beginning of the war on October 7.
The Israeli Ministry of War (Defense Ministry) has officially recognized 2,000 soldiers as disabled thus far.
The numbers reported by the newspaper indicate a staggering total, with over 5,000 wounded Israeli soldiers admitted to hospitals and more than 2,000 officially recognized as disabled by the army and received by the Ministry of Defense. Additionally, the Ministry’s Rehabilitation Department is reported to be receiving approximately 60 wounded soldiers daily, most of whom have serious injuries.
Even with the strict Israeli military censorship in place, which restricts media coverage of the aggression on Gaza, these numbers have come to light.
Israeli Media outlets are prohibited from covering, publishing, or discussing specific details pertaining to Israeli military and intelligence operations, as well as missile attacks on sensitive sites within the Israeli entity, without prior approval from the military censor.
