The US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf announced clearly that her country will not be able to continue granting aids to the Lebanese Army amid the absence of the political solution.
Leaf knows well that her administration is responsible for the political deadlock delaying the presidential elections and the socioeconomic crisis which has left the Lebanese army soldiers in need of one-hundred-dollar donation every month.
Nonetheless, the insolent diplomat blackmails the Lebanese people, army and political forces-either you elect a pro-US president, or your country will witness more and more woes.
The Lebanese daily, Al-Akhbar, exposed a scandal, reporting that the US embassy in Beirut conducts surveys and questionnaires that reveal all the personal data of the army and security agencies servicemen in return for the financial donation they receive every month.
According to Al-Akhbar report, the questionnaires humiliatingly ask the officers and soldiers about the “extent of happiness” they reach when they receive the donation.
Elsewhere, the data collected by the US questionnaires, conducted by a Jordanian firm, could endanger the soldiers and expose them to blackmail operations in the future.
Thus, the United States which provides the Israeli enemy with hundreds of billions of dollars to sustain the military supremacy in the region is blackmailing the Lebanese army soldiers just because it is granting them 100 dollars per month.
