Caretaker Minister of Refugees Issam Shrafeddine told Al-Manar TV that the Lebanon is no longer capable of tolerating the Syrian displacement crisis, calling on the premier Najib Mikati to escalate the rhetoric during his meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Mikai had met with United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres, and U.S. Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, voicing concerns about the rising numbers of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
Sharafeddine called on Mikati to threaten the international community that Lebanon will let the Syrian refugees flock into Europe by sea in order to cope with the ongoing crisis.
The minister wondered how a continent imposes on a small country to host more than 2 million Syrian refugees, underlining the double standards of the Europeans in this regard.
