Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has said that although the arrogant powers’ interests are after compelling people not to remind the martyrs’ bravery and Jihad, the nation should pay homage to the martyrs and appreciate their courage.
The virtues of the martyrs should be passed down to the young generation through attractive and innovative means, the Supreme Leader said in a meeting held on May 30 in Tehran with officials in charge of holding a national congress in commemoration of martyrs of Sabzevar and Neyshabur, two cities in the northeastern Iranian province of Razavi Khorasan.
The text of the Ayatollah Khamenei’s speech was released at the congress held on Thursday morning (June 1).
Reminding the name of the martyrs is synonymous with Jihad, according to the Supreme Leader’s remarks.
The names of 4,500 martyrs have been registered from the two mentioned Iranian cities, and a national congress is annually held to mark the martyred individuals.
