The Lebanese parliament held on Thursday the eighth session to elect a new president as the various blocs have not reached an agreement yet.
After some quarrels between the lawmakers over the Constitutional stipulations pertaining the elections, the members of the parliament started voting.
Consequently, 52 blank ballots were cast in the election box in which 37 lawmakers voted for MP Michel Moawwad. Miscellaneous names appeared on other ballots, and 4 ballots were cancelled.
After the end of the vote, quorum was missed, which made Speaker Nabih Berri adjourn the session till Thursday, December 8.
