The Zionist circles continued highlighting the repercussions of the indirect agreement to demarcate the maritime borders with Lebanon, stressing that Hezbollah military power forced ‘Israel’ to accept the deal.
The Arab affairs expert Zvi Yehezkeli said that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah threatened to use military power if ‘Israel’ extracts gas from Karish field before the border demarcation.
Had Hezbollah not threatened to use military power, the deal would not have been reached, according to Yehezkeli.
Meanwhile, the Zionist circles indicated that the maritime agreement has nothing to do with the normalization deals with some Arab regimes, denying the remarks made by PM Yair Lapid who had alleged that Lebanon recognized the “State of Israel”.
It is worth noting that the head of the opposition and former premier Benjamin Netanyahu did not comment on the deal in contrast with his earlier and objections and preparation for sustaining the deal if he wins the elections.
After the Lebanese President Michel Aoun signed on Thursday the official US letter on maritime deal, Lebanon’s negotiation delegation submitted the letter to the United Nations at UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura. While the enemy’s premiers Lapid signed the other document and sent it to the United Nations headquarters in Naqoura via a delegation as well.
