The Lebanese caretaker energy minister received an Iranian delegation led by the ambassador Mujtaba Amani in order to coordinate the Lebanese technical team’s visit to Tehran to discuss the specifications of the Iranian fuel intended to be donated to Lebanon.
Fayyad told Al-Manar reporter that all the Lebanese political forces have encouraged approval of the Iranian donation due to the severe power crisis plaguing Lebanon.
The Iranian diplomat indicated that his country’s fuel donation was decided upon Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah’s initiative, adding that the donation includes a fuel grant as well as power plants repair and construction.
Sayyed Nasrallah had announced during a televised interview in July that he is ready to mediate a free fuel donation from Iran in order to cope with the power crisis in Lebanon.
