After the end of the Lebanese parliamentary elections, the Saudi ambassador to Lebanon Walid Al-Bukhari appeared more determined to intervene in the local politics.
Nominating candidates, forming lists and funding anti-Hezbollah propaganda, Al-Bukhari violated flagrantly the diplomatic norms and political morals.
What worsened the scene was Al-Bukhari’s speech during which he addressed the pro-Saudi puppets in Lebanon. He indicated that the parliamentary elections led to the fall of treachery and betrayal symbols as well as grudge and death makers.
The responses to Al-Bukhari were made immediately.
The former MP Najah Wakim ridiculously congratulated Al-Bukhari on learning the meaning of the ‘elections’, hinting at the political system in the Saudi Kingdom which has never witnessed any vote.
The former minister Wiam Wahhab indicated that the Saudi ambassador is antagonizing a considerable segment of the Lebanese people for no reason, telling Al-Bukhari that the death makers are among the pro-Saudi politicians in Lebanon.
On May 15, 2022, Lebanon witnessed a parliamentary election which synchronized with an unprecedented crisis caused by the US-backed siege and corruption. Despite the US scheme, the Resistance alliance managed to emerge victorious.
