Head of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Raad said sectarian rhetoric adopted by the Resistance party’s rivals in Lebanon is part of the campaign against Hezbollah ahead of the parliamentary elections in May.
In a local ceremony in the southern town of Abba on Monday, MP Raad said the rival political camp in Lebanon is working to secure parliamentary majority and to elect a president who implement the US agenda.
“They tried in the past to bring a president who attempted to introduce a peace treaty with the Zionist entity, but it didn’t work,” the lawmaker said in remarks carried by Al-Manar.
In this context, MP Raad stressed that such scenario will not be repeated in Lebanon, noting that the results of the upcoming parliamentary elections won’t be much different than those held in 2018 regarding the number of MPs belonging to Hezbollah and its allies.
Meanwhile, he stressed that all attempts to sue discord between Hezbollah and Amal movement are futile, praising wisdom of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Amal Leader Nabih Berri.
“Sayyed Nasrallah and Speaker Berri are in full understanding and continuous coordination.”
Responding to claims of “Iranian occupation of Lebanon,” MP Raad wondered whether the rivals considers the Lebanese streets which have been named after foreign figures like France’s Charles De Gaulle and Georges Clemenceau.
“When a photo of a military commander who defended the Lebanese people against Takfiri terrorists was raised in Beirut, they consider it an Iranian occupation. Why the streets across our country are named after figures like De Gaulle and Clemenceau? Were they Lebanese?”
