Lebanese nationals who are fleeing the deadly crisis in Ukraine have been stranded at borders with Poland trying to go home.
Al-Manar knew that 9 students out of 18 managed on Sunday to enter the Polish territories amid cold weather.
The other nine students were facing difficulties to cross the border with Poland due to some problems in their identity documents, a source at the Lebanese embassy in Poland told Al-Manar.
One of the stranded students told Al-Manar she left Kiev three days ago and that she was waiting to cross the border with Poland. The student added that many of her colleagues were still trapped in the Ukrainian capital amid deadly fighting there.
Another student told Al-Manar that the first concern was to cross the border into Poland, noting that he had no idea about what to do then and how to return home.
Estimates put the number of Lebanese nationals in Ukraine at around 4,300, including 1,000 students.
So far 480 Lebanese citizens managed to flee Ukraine, while at least 200 others are still stuck in Kiev, sources told Al-Manar.
