The Russian ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, indicated on Sunday that the Lebanese Foreign Ministry statement which denounced the Russia special operation in Ukraine does not take into account the friendly relations between the two countries.
In a press conference, Rudakov added that the Russian special operation in Ukraine is aimed at protecting the Russian national security.
The Russian embassy in Beirut issued on Friday a statement which responded to that of the Lebanese foreign ministry, expressing astonishment at the Lebanese foreign ministry statement, describing it as bias, and recalling that Moscow has always contributed to Lebanon’s prosperity and stability.
The Russian embassy indicated that the operation in Ukraine is aimed at protecting Russia’s national security, adding that Kiev regime has violated Minsk agreement.
The statement also indicated that Russia has always sought to consecrate peace and security, maintaining that every nation has the right to protect its national security.
