Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday this is a crucial moment that will decide on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
Zelensky added that his country won’t lay down its weapons, and they will “continue to defend the land.”
He also spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron, who said weapons and equipment are on the way to Ukraine.
Zelenskiy also said in a tweet he had discussed with European Council President Charles Michel “further effective assistance and the heroic struggle of Ukrainians for their free future.”
Meanwhile on Saturday, Zelensky asked Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to assist in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian ambassador to Zionist entity told CNN.
“Our president believes that Israel is the only democratic state that has good relations with both Russia and Ukraine, and can be used to help,” said Ambassador Yevgeny Kornichuk.
He added that it is better to hold the talks in the Zionist entity rather than Minsk – the capital of Belarus, which is considered a close ally of Russia, the CNN said, adding that Tel Aviv is considering the proposal, and has not yet responded.
