US Special Envoy for Iran Affairs Robert Malley discussed Vienna talks with the representatives of Gulf Cooperation Council and other Arab countries.
In a tweet on Friday, Malley wrote that he had ‘good conversation’ with representatives from the GCC countries, Egypt, and Jordan about the ongoing negotiations for a mutual return to compliance with the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), the official name of Iran’s nuclear deal.
Good conversation today with representatives from the GCC, Egypt, and Jordan about our ongoing negotiations for a mutual return to compliance with the JCPOA. As negotiations reach a conclusion in the coming weeks, we will continue to consult closely with our regional partners.

Earlier, Wall Street Journal (WSJ) claimed in that US officials were seeking a different deal from JCPOA.
Vienna talks are aimed at the revival of the nuclear deal, which was signed in 2015 between the Islamic Republic and world powers. Former US president Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement in 2018 and imposed sanctions on Tehran.
