Amal Movement politburo issued on Monday a statement in which it reiterated its rejection of the bias and politicized performance of the judicial investigator onto Beirut port blast, Judge Tarek Al-Bitar.
After its periodic meeting, Amal Movement politburo indicated that Al-Bitar is following an agenda prepared to settle political scores and confiscate the powers of the parliament.
Al-Bitar had issued arrest warrants against officials as well as military figures on an illogical basis, pushing the defendants and observers to cast doubts on his probe.
On August 4, 2020, a massive blast rocked Beirut Port blast, killing around 195 citizens and injuring over 6000 of others. The explosion also caused much destruction in the capital and its suburbs.
Meanwhile, Amal Movement called for abiding by the dates set to hold the parliamentary and presidential elections, underscoring their importance inn preserving democracy in the country.
