A senior adviser to the Iranian foreign minister and the United Nations secretary-general’s new special envoy for Yemen weighed plans for the resolution of conflicts in the Arab country.
Iranian diplomat Ali Asghar Khaji and Hans Grundberg, the UN special envoy for Yemen, held a telephone conversation on Sunday.
The two officials reviewed the latest developments related to lifting blockade on Yemen and the peace process there, Tasnim news agency reported.
Khaji stressed that Iran will continue its constructive role in achieving a fair peace in Yemen through a political settlement.
For his part, Grundberg of Sweden called for the continuation of efforts aimed at resolving the crisis in Yemen as he briefed Khaji on his recent efforts to promote peace in Yemen within the UN framework.
