Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed on Friday that Hezbollah will continue importing the Iranian fuel as long as the US siege remains blockading the energy source into Lebanon.
In an interview with Al-Manar TV Channel, Sheikh Qassem stressed that the fuel imports aimed at reliving all the Lebanese people who are suffering from the ongoing crisis, adding that the Lebanese authorities rejected to approve the process for fear of the US sanctions.
Sheikh Qassem underscored that the Iranian fuel imports confused the US administration and its siege on Lebanon, adding that Washington, accordingly, approved the project of providing Lebanon with the Egyptian gas and Jordanian electricity via Syria.
His eminence also emphasized that Hezbollah did violate the national sovereignty by importing the Iranian fuel “because its goal was relieving the besieged people and the authorities rejected to approve it”, wondering whether the US funds to the NGOs in Lebanon are passing through the official channels.
Meanwhile, the Hezbollah official underlined that the Resistance is ready to confront any Israeli aggression on Lebanon, even if this leads to an all-out war, adding the deterrence formula prevents the Zionist enemy from committing such a folly.
Sheikh Qassem indicated that Hezbollah will move against any Israeli infringement on Lebanon’s maritime borders and rights after the government address the legal side of the issue.
Sheikh Qassem also announced that Hezbollah started preparing for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in 2022, stressing that the new government must set a plan to cope with the ongoing economic crisis.
