In the context of Hezbollah plan to break the US siege and provide the Lebanese people with fuel monopolized by a major cartel in the country, Al-Amana company started distributing diesel oil to the needy sectors for free.
Hezbollah had decided to import fuel from Iran via Syria in order to smash the US siege which has already caused socioeconomic woes in Lebanon due to the oil and power shortages.
Long queues of cars have been seen at the gas stations for several months across all the Lebanese cities and towns due to the gasoline and diesel shortages caused by several factors led by the US decision to besiege Lebanon.
The first diesel ship arrived from Iran in Syria’s Banyas seaport last Sunday and its cargo was trucked into Lebanon on Thursday.
