Hezbollah MP Hasan Fadlallah lashed out at the US for being responsible for the blockade on Lebanon which has been for months witnessing critical fuel shortage.
In a statement on Saturday, Fadlallah said that US Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea’s offer where it told President Michel Aoun that Washington will help Lebanon get electricity from Jordan “proves Washington’s responsibility for the blockade on Lebanon.”
Few hours after Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah announced on Thursday that a fuel ship bound for Lebanon will sail, Shea visited President Aoun and announced that the US will provide Egyptian natural gas to Jordan for generation into additional electricity that can be transmitted to Lebanon via Syria.
“The (Iranian) fuel ship, and before reaching its destination, precisely hit the US and all those who bet on Washington, inflicting failure and frustration upon them.”
“The US ambassador was not embarrassed by its country’s shame which extends from Kabul airport to Beirut blockade, but rather she impudently exposed the US administration’s responsibility for the sufferings of the Lebanese people.”
Shea announced that the US can get funds from the International Monetary Fund to provide Lebanon with electricity from Jordan, via besieged Syria, MP Fadlallah said stressing that such remarks “prove that the decision to prevent Lebanon from using this source of electricity is an American decision.”
“This decision was revised only because of the Iranian fuel ship,” the Hezbollah MP added.
