The Lebanese parliament convened on Friday upon the invitation of Speaker Nabih Berri to read the letter of President Michel Aoun kn light of the decision taken by the Central Bank governor, Riad Salameh, to lift the fuel subsidies.

President Aoun had called on the parliament to discuss the economic situation and take the suitable measures.

After the discussions, the parliament called for a speedy cabinet formation and distribution of ration card, highlighting the importance of liberating the market from monopoly.
