Bahrain’s top cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Al-Qassem said the Muslim nation witnesses today a clear division between two fronts.
In an Ashura ceremony in the Iranian city of Qom on Wednesday, Sheikh Al-Qassem said the first front represents those who call for normalization of ties with the Zionist entity, and is led by the United States.
The first front is confronted by the Resistance, Sheikh Al-Qassem added, noting that this front “implements the principles of true Islam”.
“Yazid of this era is represented through the presence of US and the Zionists in our region,” his eminence said.
The top Bahraini cleric noted that the crackdown on Shia in Bahrain has political background rather than religious or sectarian.
“Harassments against Ashura ceremonies in Bahrain is a political war rather than sectarian one,” he said, stressing that Bahrainis will go ahead with commemorating Ashura in the Gulf island.
