The Supreme Defense Council held on Sunday an urgent sessi9on to address the tragedy caused by an explosion of an oil tanker in Akkar city, tasking the army and security forces to supervise the energy sources and organize its distribution till September 15, 21021.
The Council also ordered the Army and security forces to maintain stability in northern Lebanon to avoid any cases of anarchy in the area.
The Council also asked the health minister to cover the treatment of all the injured, mobilize the medics in face of the calamity, and open the Turkish hospital, dedicated to treat burns, in Sidon
The Council also asked the two ministers of health and energy to coordinate providing the hospitals with the needed diesel oil, thanking all the governments which expressed readiness to aid Lebanon.
28 citizens were martyred and 80 others were injured in an oil tanker explosion in Akkar city early Sunday.
