The leadership of the “Amal” Movement denied, in an issued statement this afternoon, the circulated news about an image showing confiscated weapons that were on their way to the Beirut Port memorial event, stressing its keenness on “respecting the measures of the army and security apparatuses.”
The statement demanded herein that “all the appropriate measures be taken to maintain stability, and to control any violation of security measures.”
Security sources told Al-Manar TV Channel that Lebanese army seized car loaded with ammunition and arrested its owner Elie Haikal in Zouk Mosbeh area, north of Beirut, during the event marking the first anniversary of the Port Blast.
The Lebanese army circulated the photo of the ammunition whose owner posted the logo of Amal Movement on one of the vests in order to stir sedition.
