Hezbollah firmly condemned the murder of the Russian ambassador to Turkey, stressing that the attack won’t affect Russia’s determination to fight terrorism.
In a statement released by the party’s Media Relations late on Monday, Hezbollah expressed sympathy with the Russian leadership and the slain ambassador’s family.
“The crime which claimed the life of Mr. Andrey Karlov is an offense of the international security and stability,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese resistance movement expressed confidence that “this terrorist operation won’t ever affect the firm policy of Russia towards Syria and the region.”
“Russia will rather be more determined to work along with allies and friends to confront terrorism and eradicate it,” the statement added.
Karlov was shot dead Monday by a Turkish policeman in Ankara. The Russian envoy was attending a photo exhibition on Russia “in the eyes of Turks.”
