Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei and top Iranian officials expressed their condolences on the death of Secretary-General of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Ahmad Jibril.
“I offer my deep condolences on the death of tireless and indefatigable Palestinian Resistance leader Mr. Ahmed Jibril to the Palestinian people, all activists in the field of Palestinian struggles as well as all elements of the Resistance Front in the West Asian region,” Imam Khamenei said in a message cited by Iranian media.
“This brave and hard-working leader spent his life fighting for his oppressed Palestinian people and his homeland Palestine.”
In a separate message, Iranian President Hasan Rouhani condoled the demise of Jibril (known as Abu Jihad), considering him a figure who devoted his entire honorable life to defending the cause of the oppressed Palestinian nation and strengthening the Resistance Front.
“Abu Jihad was one of the true loyalists to the Palestinian cause and a true supporter of the Axis of Resistance,” Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raeisi said in a message.
In another message, IRGC Quds Force Commander Brigadier General Esmail Qaani condoled the demise of Jibril, hailing his role in creating the nature of Resistance.
“He was one of the founders of the Axis of Resistance who spent all his efforts to serve this front,” Qaani wae quoted as saying.
