Iran lashed out at Saudi Arabia on Friday, saying the Kingdom has defied the principles of morality by waging a war on Yemen.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh ured Riyadh in a tweet to stop killing the fellow Muslims.
“Daydreams of conquering Yemen in ‘3 weeks’ haven’t materialized in 6 years,” the spokesman said.
Saudi Arabia launched a devastating military aggression against Yemen in March 2015 in collaboration with a number of its allied states, such as the UAE, and with arms support from the US and several Western countries.
The aim was to restore power to the Riyadh-backed regime of former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi and defeat the Houthi Ansarullah revolutionary movement that has taken control of state matters.
Since then, over 100,000 people have been killed, according to the US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED).
Riyadh has been also imposing a harsh blockade on the Arab impoverished country, making the humanitarian condition further dire.
