General Directorate of General Security in Lebanon said on Friday it arrested a Lebanese suspect over links with terrorist group.
“Within the framework of monitoring and follow-up activities of terrorist groups and sleeper cells affiliate, the Directorate apprehended the Lebanese (A.A.) in light of information about his communication with terrorist entities,” the directorate said in a statement.
As a result of investigation, the arrested suspect admitted he was an activist with several others in logistics and moving of military weapons and ammunition of all kinds in favor of the terrorist groups in the barren mountains of Arsal through smuggling routes.
After the investigation, A.A. was referred to the competent court, the statement added, noting that “work is underway to arrest the rest of the people involved.”
