The Secretary General of Asaib Ahl Haq (League of the Righteous) group, Sheik Qais Khazaali, announced that the ceasefire with the US forces ended because its conditions were not met, highlighting the Iraqis’ right to confront the foreign troops.

Sheikh Khazaali pointed out that the Iraqi laws must be observed in the cases of the US soldiers’ crimes, adding that legislating the US forces presence requires the parliament approval.

Sheikh Khazaali stressed that intentions behind the outgoing President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan and the Mideast are different from those publicly announced.
