The Palestinian prisoner, Kamal Abu Waer, died inside the Israeli jail of Majdo after a long struggle with the cancer disease and recent contraction of the coronavirus.
Martyr Abu Waer, who descends from the occupied West Bank, had been imprisoned by the Zionist enemy since 2003 before he died on Tuesday due to the lack of medical measures that protect the ill prisoners from the pandemic.
Hamas movement issued a statement in which it stressed that the medical dereliction at the Zionist jails was behind Abu Waer’s martyrdom, adding that this violates all the international laws related to dealing with the prisoners.
According to Hamas statement, the number of the Palestinian prisoners who have embraced martyrdom at the Zionist jails have become 226.
For its part, the Islamic Jihad movement mourned martyr Abu Waer, stressing that liberating the Palestinian prisoners at the Zionist jails to protect them from the slow murder is national responsibility.
