France’s foreign ministry on Friday said that there was no evidence to suggest Hezbollah was storing chemicals to make explosives in France after a senior US official alleged the resistance group had set up caches in Europe since 2012.
“To our knowledge, there is nothing tangible to confirm such an allegation in France today,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Agnes von der Muhll told reporters in response to US allegations.
The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, had urged Europe to blacklist Hezbollah civil and military wings, which explains the US attempt to frighten the entire continent of the Resistance group.
France stance frustrates the US political campaign against Hezbollah, knowing that the French President is playing an important role to broker a political settlement in Lebanon.
