President Michel Aoun addressed the nation on the eve of Lebanon’s Independence Day, highlighting the importance of preserving the national unity in order to protect the country’s’ security and stability in face of the dangers caused by the regional crises.
President Aoun called on the Lebanese to prevent the foreign powers from intervening in the domestic affairs in order to sustain the national independence.
The Lebanese President also urged the executive authorities to help the citizens living in the border areas to develop their towns, for “they represent Lebanon’s first protection shield”.
President Aoun also confirmed that the Lebanese army can face all the dangers which threaten the country, calling for boosting its technical and training capabilities.
President Aoun had received the Saudi King envoy, Mecca Crown Prince, Khaled Al-Faisal, who forwarded him Salman’s congratulation on his election and invitation to visit KSA.
