Clashes in north and western-north countryside of the Syrian province of Raqqah are still ongoing since operations by Democratic Syria forces were launched to isolate the city and expel the so-called ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) terrorist group from the area, a monitor group said.
The UK-based opposition Syrian Observatory reported that ninty-five ISIL gunmen were killed or injured during the operations up till Tuesday evening, including 20 militants who were buried in a mass grave near Devision-17.
Recently, Kurdish websites have been talking about the full control of the DSF over the village of “Al-Towaila’ah” in Southeast of Ein-Issa town.
Kurkish media circulated that People’s Protection Units have been advancing to a distance of 6 km, starting from the Al-Hayesh village in Slook town in the north countryside of Raqqah after clashes with ISIL group.
This progress signifies that YPG forces are surrounding ISIL in the villages of Khnez and Theleth Khnez.
