After the MPs arrived at the UNESCO Palace, Speaker of the House Nabih Berri announced the start of the legislative session, NNA reporter said on Tuesday.
MPs are scheduled to study and approve project laws and proposals over the span of three consecutive days.
The Covid-19 pandemic has forced MPs to hold their legislative session outside Nejmeh Square.
After the completion of logistical preparations by security forces in the whereabouts of the UNESCO Palace, MPs underwent a sterilization process, and their temperature was taken. Masks were also distributed to MPs and media reporters.
It is noteworthy that the last legislative sessions that were held at Nejmeh Square were on January 27, 2020, and it a session devoted to approving the 2020 budget, and on February 11, 2020, to vote confidence for the government of Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
