The Venezuelan House Speaker Juan Guaido said he was challenging President Nicolas Maduro for control of Venezuela.
In an interview with AFP, Guaido has stated that he does not want to rule out an authorized military intervention of the United States in Venezuela, adding he would do “everything necessary” to save human lives.
“However, the intervention of the United States was a “very explosive issue.”
“They are trying to destroy the independence and sovereignty of the country under the pretext of delivering humanitarian aid. They are trying to destabilize our country, but this has not brought [them] any success”, the Venezuelan president had stressed.
