Hezbollah, Amal Movement Underline Resistance and National Unity to Achieve Victory and Defend Homeland

Hezbollah and Amal Movement commands held a joint meeting to tackle the latest developments, underlining the role of resistance and national unity in achieving victory and defending the homeland.

What follows is the text of the joint statement issued after the meeting:

A meeting was held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, between Dr. Mustafa Fouani, Head of the Executive Body of the Amal Movement, and Sheikh Ali Daamoush, Head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah. The latest political, social, and national developments were discussed.

It was affirmed that the unity of the Lebanese people and their national solidarity constitute the fundamental pillar in confronting Israeli aggression and its plans. Protecting Lebanon and safeguarding its sovereignty and stability requires the highest degree of internal cohesion and adherence to the elements of national strength, far from anything that could weaken the comprehensive national stance. They stressed that resistance and national unity have been and remain the basis for achieving victories and protecting the homeland.

The attendees agreed on the following points:

  1. The attendees extended congratulations to the Lebanese people on the occasion of Resistance and Liberation Day, affirming their adherence to the national achievements made through this historic accomplishment in 2000, and what it represented as a pivotal moment in the history of Lebanon and the region.
  2. The attendees praised the heroism of the resistance fighters and its people in confronting the Israeli killing and aggression machine, commending their resilience, steadfastness, and sacrifices in defense of the homeland and the dignity of its people.
  3. The attendees congratulated the Lebanese people in general, and Muslims in particular, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, wishing that the coming days would bring better conditions and greater hope for all Lebanese.
  4. The attendees stressed the need to follow up on the file of the displaced and sheltering, considering it a national priority that requires direct attention from the Lebanese state and the concerned bodies and institutions.
  5. The attendees emphasized the importance of commemorating Ashura ceremonies as is customary every year, with the nature and programs of these ceremonies to be in line with the circumstances and developments at the time.
  6. The attendees noted the state of national solidarity and social cohesion, and the Lebanese embracing one another amid difficult circumstances and current challenges, considering this spirit a fundamental pillar of national resilience.
