Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem hailed legendary resilience of resistance fighters, as he vowed to continue the path of resistance despite all pressures being exerted by enemies.
In a speech delivered via video link during a conference in tribute of late Iranian scholar Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Misbah Al-Yazdi on Tuesday, Sheikh Qassem described Operation Al-Aqsa Flood as “pivotal project that created new equations in the confrontation with the Zionist entity.”
Op. Al-Aqsa Flood exposed “brutality of the occupation and highlighted steadfastness of the resistance fighters in Palestine and Lebanon, with the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, whose guidelines echo those of late Imam Khomeini in supporting the Palestinian cause,” Sheikh Qassem said in the address carried by Al-Manar.
His eminence lauded Iran’s steadfastness during the 12-day Israeli-US war on the Islamic Republic last June.
Iran’s resilience “provided hope for the oppressed of the world,” Sheikh Qassem said.
The Hezbollah S.G. commended the role of Yemen in Iraq in supporting the Axis of Resistance in face of an Israeli aggression that is “aimed at eradicating the roots of resistance in the region.”
Sheikh Qassem praised the resistance fighters, paying tribute to martyrs, injured and families of the fighters over their “high spirit of faith, loyalty and legendary resilience.”
The spirit shown by the Mujahideen (resistance fighters) thwarted the goals of the Israeli scheme, his eminence said, vowing that such resilience will proceed despite all pressures exerted by the enemies.
The Hezbollah S.G. paid tribute to Ayatolla Al-Yazdi, saying his thought “represented a model of authentic intellectual legacy that contributed to establishing the foundations of the Islamic Revolution and confronting the intellectual and cultural challenges in the Islamic world.”
Sheikh Qassem also cited remarks by the master of the Ummah’s martyrs Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah who paid tribute to Ayatollah Al-Yazdi by saying: “He dedicated his life to God, his existence being for the sake of upholding His word and guiding others to His path. He was a unique and exceptional figure in the Islamic world.”
