Israeli occupation army said on Monday it has shot down a drone launched from the Gaza strip.
Israeli media quoted a statement by the IOF as saying that a drone which infiltrated from the Gaza Strip and was seen over the settlement of Zikim was intercepted by the Israeli military.
“The drone was identified by Israeli radar systems as crossing over the border in the northern Gaza Strip, flying near the communities of Karmiya and Zikim and tracked by troops until it was downed,” the Jerusalem Post reported.
The drone’s pieces were collected by the IOF and transferred for further inspection and to determine where it came from and what it had been carrying, the JPost added.
The IOF has not specified the geographical location of where the UAV was brought down.
The Zionist entity has repeatedly accused the Gaza-based Hamas resistance group of launching drone attacks over the occupied territories.
